Melissa Mahaney MSN, RN, CCM

Melissa Mahaney MSN, RN, CCM, earned her BSN from Morehead State University and her Master's of Nursing in Education from Walden University. She has been a licensed registered nurse for nearly 20 years and a Certified Case Manager for the last 2 years. She is an experienced healthcare leader with a demonstrated history of working in complex health systems and homebased care. Melissa currently serves at the Director of Home Health with UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC. She is skilled in U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Healthcare Information Technology (HIT), Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Transitions of care program development and implementation, Population Health, Home Care, EMR implementations and Healthcare Management. Melissa has served as adjunct faculty in the School of Nursing at UNC, as well as Morehead State University. Melissa has a passion for advanced care models in homebased care and believes that we should honor our seniors with their goal of aging in place. Melissa has been named Women's Leader Delegate and Top Female Executive in 2005. Melissa is a member of the National Society of Leadership, HIMSS, National Homecare Association, and the North Carolina Homecare Association. Melissa looks to the next 20 years of her career to make a difference in the community's quality of lives by advocating for the continued equitable transformation to care in the home through influence with payer and health systems.
